About Us

Students Walking Down Stairs
The Pierstorf College Fund was established in 1994 to provide interest-free loans to eligible college students who are members of Lutheran churches in Ohio. The Fund was initiated by Dr. Ervin Pierstorf and his beloved wife, Florence, in loving memory of his brother, Clarence. All three family members devoted themselves to helping young people receive a college education. As lifelong members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Fairview Park, Ohio, the Pierstorf Family chose to provide support funds for fellow Lutherans regardless of their synodical affiliation.

Students who are interested in applying for a Pierstorf loan should review the criteria and application process here.

Mission

To help Ohio Lutheran students attain the life they’re called to live with interest-free college loans.

Values

The Pierstorf College Fund exists to serve young adults of Lutheran Churches in Ohio by helping them obtain a post-secondary education. Founder and Pharmacist Dr. Ervin Pierstorf dedicated his life to serving others. Today the Fund continues to embody Dr. Pierstorf’s gentle spirit and servant’s heart with the following core values: Generosity, Service, Mercy, and Community. We are a ministry, not a business.
